MUSIKPARK is a startup and competence center for the music industry and music-oriented creative industries. As Germany’s first startup center for the creative industries, it combines entrepreneurial support with a vibrant music and creative hub. Across more than 6,000 square meters of office, studio, and dance space, over 40 companies have already created more than 200 jobs.
Together with the neighboring Popakademie Baden-Württemberg, MUSIKPARK forms an active support and advisory network for female label founders, concert organizers, artist agencies, promoters, bookers, musicians, bands, and DJs. Well-known alumni of the Popakademie include Alice Merton, JORIS, Mine, Anika Nilles, and CRADA. Among those who emerged from the Popakademie’s Bandpool support program are Max Giesinger, Revolverheld, ClockClock, Lotte, Provinz, and NOVAA.
For the future strategic development planning of NEXT Mannheim, the MUSIKPARK should therefore be viewed not merely as a location for buildings and space, but as a central platform for the music industry, startup support, and networking. Its particular value lies in bringing together talent, education, businesses, and the music industry—while also facilitating collaborations with the technology sector, the digital economy, and other creative industries.
In this way, MUSIKPARK can help promote new startups and business models, further develop Mannheim as a music hub, and highlight its economic and cultural contribution to the city and the metropolitan region.
